SchoolLogic Reports on PASI progress

SchoolLogic reports substantial progress towards completion of PASI readiness, 17 May 2011.

SchoolLogic (formerly Management Information Group – MIG) today is publishing a progress report on their joint work with Lethbridge School District 51 and Alberta Learning to support

 Provincial Approach to Student Information (PASI),a strategic, multi-year Alberta Education initiative aimed at ensuring the business processes and technology related to student demographic information are effectively positioned to serve the needs of Alberta’s K-12 students. By August 2013, SIRS and SchoolLogic users will access PASI seamlessly through SIRS or SchoolLogic to allow student information to be shared in real time across the province.

“Today we are pleased to report we have completed the first 3 Steps of a 9 step process to ensure PASI readiness, a project that will run to August 2013 when PASI is to be fully implemented in Alberta”, said Jeff Dyck, General Manager.

  • Step 1 – Identify PASI partner, submit MOU to Alberta Learning     Complete
  • Step 2 – Receive PASI certificate from Alberta Learning                Complete
  • Step 3 – Successfully call 1 or more PASI Web Services               Complete
  • Step 4 – Develop System Test                                                 In Progress
  • Step 5 – Update SIRS and SchoolLogic to interact with PASI         In Progress
  • Step 6 – User Acceptance Testing                                            Target Start Date - Nov 1, 2011
  • Step 7 – Complete PASI Conformance Test                                 Target Start Date - Dec 1, 2011
  • Step 8 – PASI Pilot in production                                              Target Start Date - Jan 2, 2012
  • Step 9 – PASI Roll-out to SchoolLogic clients in Alberta                Target Date – TBA

All dates have been agreed upon by SchoolLogic, Lethbridge 51 and the Alberta Education PASI team.

SchoolLogic has been a committed member of the PASI initiative since the project’s inception and we remain committed to the PASI project and to our clients in their need to have a PASI compliant student information system.  “Together with our pilot partner Lethbridge 51 and the Alberta Education PASI team we are ontrack to complete this project on time”, said Jeff Dyck.  SchoolLogic continues to attend all PASI meetings, have regular contact with PASI team members to discuss development/deployment plans with the PASI team.
